MCS paperwork and the DNO notification are handled for you. Prices carry 0% VAT until 31 March 2027, then the reduced rate of 5%.

A local installer, not a national lead generator.

A lot of the companies you find when you search for solar do not install anything. They collect your details, sell them on, and somebody else turns up.

Our prices are on the website so you can compare us without giving us anything, the survey is free with nothing sold at it, and the price is fixed in writing afterwards with 14 days to change your mind.

The people who quote it are the people who fit it.

Why it matters on the day

Our installation teams are ours, not a rota of subcontractors booked by the week.

It means the surveyor who wrote down where the battery goes and the electrician who puts it there work for the same company, and a question asked at survey is answered by someone who will still be around at handover.

Why it matters afterwards

If something needs looking at in a year, there is no argument about whose responsibility it is. We fitted it, so we come back to it.

Scaffolding is the one thing we bring in, because scaffolders are a trade in their own right. Everything from the survey to the commissioning and the handover is done by our own people.

What we guarantee, and who holds it.

Four cover periods run on a solar and battery installation, and they are not held by the same party. Workmanship is ours, insured rather than simply promised, so the cover does not rest on us still trading. The panels, the battery and the inverter are the manufacturer's, and we deal with those claims so you are not sending emails to a factory. Every term is written into your quotation before you agree to anything.

The panel figure is the one everybody advertises, and it is the least interesting of the four. A panel is a sheet of glass with no moving parts and it essentially never fails. What fails is the inverter, the wiring, the roof fixings, the flashing and the battery integration, and all of those are our work rather than the manufacturer's. They sit under the workmanship term, which is why that is the number worth comparing between quotations.

Yeovil and Poole.

Two locations, a little over an hour apart, which between them put most of Somerset, Dorset and Hampshire within a sensible drive for a survey, an installation and a return visit.

Things we have decided not to do.

  • No savings figure before a survey What a system saves depends on your roof, your usage and your tariff. A number produced before anyone has seen the property is a guess dressed up as a calculation. Your surveyor produces one afterwards, to the MCS method, with the assumptions written down so you can check them.
  • No monthly finance figures on the website A monthly payment without the interest rate, the term, the deposit and the total amount payable next to it tells you almost nothing. You get the full credit terms in writing after your survey, before anything is agreed.
  • No discount that expires on Friday The price does not drop because you hesitated. The only dated fact here is the VAT change on 31 March 2027, which is set in legislation.
  • No pretending electricity costs nothing An installation costs money, and a house still draws from the grid on a still February evening.
  • No selling at the survey The survey is a measuring exercise. There is no presentation, no folder and no price that is only available if you sign today.

Judge us on the price and the survey.

Six questions about your roof and your usage, and a number at the end. If it stands up against anyone else you are talking to, book a free survey. If it does not, you have lost a minute.
