Prices include panels, inverter, battery where listed, scaffolding, bird protection, MCS paperwork and the DNO notification. They assume no roof repairs are needed first. We do not quote a savings figure before a survey, because it depends on your roof, your usage and your tariff. Your surveyor produces one calculated to the MCS method with the assumptions written down.

    Tiles lifted

    Tiles are lifted in courses where the hooks land, then set aside. Nothing is cut that does not have to be.

    The inverter

    A hybrid inverter, usually in the loft on the gable wall, sized so a battery can be added later without replacing it. The scaffold comes down at this point, because the roof work is finished.

How it works, in full

Who stands behind it, and for how long.

Four separate cover periods run on a solar and battery installation, and they are not held by the same party. Workmanship is ours. The panels, the battery and the inverter are the manufacturer's, and we handle those claims on your behalf. Every term is written into your quotation before you agree to anything.

It is worth knowing which of those matters. A panel is a sheet of glass with no moving parts, and it is the component that essentially never fails, which is why a long panel figure is the easiest one for anyone to advertise. What fails is the inverter, the wiring, the roof fixings, the flashing and the battery integration. Every one of those is our work rather than the manufacturer's, and every one sits under the workmanship term. That is the one to compare.
